تصاعد التوتر في ثلاث مدن أميركية تشهد احتجاجات على النظام الرأسمالي، خاصة بعد أن سجلت خلال بضعة أيام فقط أربع حالات وفاة على الأقل إحداها بالرصاص، وبات الأمر ينذر بمواجهات عنيفة بين الشرطة التي تريد فض اعتصامات تتركز في الساحات والميادين، والمحتجين الذين يتمسكون بمواقعهم ومطالبهم.
ففي بورتلاند (ولاية أوريغون) تحدثت الشرطة عن تقارير تفيد بتحصين المحتجين مواقعهم، وبتصنيعهم أسلحة من الخشب والمسامير، وأمهلهم رئيس البلدية حتى منتصف ليلة اليوم لإخلاء متنزهين وسط المدينة.
ونفى المحتجون تسليح أنفسهم أو تجنيد فوضويين لخوض معركة ضد الشرطة، وتمسك مئات منهم بالبقاء في خيامهم البارحة رغم برودة الجو، لكن بعضهم غادر أمس مكان الاعتصام.
وفي سولت لايك سيتي (ولاية يوتا) تعهد منظمو الاحتجاجات بمقاومة أمر بإخلاء متنزه وسط المدينة اليوم، أصدره قائد الشرطة الذي قال إنه ضاق ذرعا بالأمر، بعد العثور على رجل ميت داخل إحدى خيم الاعتصام، ربما نتيجة تسممه بغاز أول أكسيد الكربون من موقد أو من جرعة زائدة من المخدرات، حسب صحيفة محلية.
أما في أوكلاند (ولاية كاليفورنيا) -التي عرفت صدامات بين الشرطة والمحتجين أكثر من مرة الأسابيع القليلة الماضية وتعطل بسببهاميناء المدينة الشهير لبعض الوقت- فأصر المحتجون على مواصلة الاعتصام في ميدان قريب من المجلس البلدي، رغم تزايد ضغوط السلطات التي طردتهم بالقوة من الخيم في هذا المكان في 25 من الشهر الماضي، لكنهم عادوا لاحتلال موقعهم.
وبدأت حركة الاحتجاجات على النظام المالي الأميركي وكبريات البنوك في سبتمبر/أيلول الماضي في نيويورك، ثم امتدت إلى باقي المدن الأميركية.
